Community Development
As part of Washington Wine Country's ongoing effort to promote the primary vineyard region of Washington state, one of our first initiatives was to aid in signing the region. Upon completing the development of our "Perfectly Balanced" branding campaign, we produced Avenue Banners that towns within the regions have used to announce their presence in wine country. The rich colors evoke a sense of romance and history to the towns and enable tourists to locate themselves within Washington Wine Country.
The first towns to erect Washington Wine Country banners were the Cities of Prosser and Yakima. Since then our City Revitalization Fund has granted matching funds to erect banners in Benton City and the City of Kennewick. In 2005, in cooperation with several local business owners and merchants, Washington Wine Country produced and erected our first billboard as a greeting and thank you to all visitors entering Washington Wine Country along the I-82 corridor.
