Winemaker Dinners in the Vineyards throughout Washington Wine Country
Friday, June 17, 2011

GILBERT CELLARS IN YAKIMA
With winemakers from Gilbert Cellars, Naches Heights Vineyard, and McCrea Cellars
featuring Chef Bobby Moore of the Barking Frog

Sean and Nate Gilbert of Gilbert Cellars will host this laid-back evening in their romantic wine cave in the hills above Yakima, pouring their own sophisticated wines alongside those of their winemaking peers. Phil Cline of Naches Heights Vineyard says it’s the 1,780-foot-high elevation of his vineyard - one of the highest in the state – and the rich volcanic soil that makes his wines taste so good. Winemaker Doug McCrea of McCrea Cellars has pioneered and perfected Rhone varietals in Washington State for over two decades. This trio of dedicated artisans love what they do and it shows. Paired with the fresh Pacific Northwest cuisine of Chef Bobby Moore, these expertly crafted wines will provide the inspiration for a super charged, super fun Wine Country night to remember.

SWIFTWATER CELLARS AT SUNCADIA RESORT IN CLE ELUM
With winemakers from Swiftwater Cellars, Mercer Estates, and Reininger Winery
featuring Chef Paul Cotta of The Hoist House Restaurant

Wine is about coming together with family and friends – from harvesting the grapes to crafting the wine, to enjoying it in the glass. For Swiftwater Cellars, it was a simple pairing of winemaker Tony Rynders unique style and the Watts family’s 30-year dedication to top quality agriculture that has resulted in their premium wines crafted in Washington’s Cascade Mountains. Mercer Estates is a delightful consequence of two collaborations: the sun and soil of eastern Washington and the Mercer and Hogue families with renowned winemaker David Forsyth, who together produce superior wines that express the synergy of art and science. Obsessed with making elegant wines true to the fruit, Chuck Reininger of Reininger Winery has built a reputation for crafting elegant and finely structured reds from hand-harvested, ultra premium grapes. Paired with the fresh, seasonal dishes of The Hoist House Chef Paul Cotta, this is a reunion of lifelong farming friends excited to share the fruits of their labor.
